HHS Initiative on Multiple Chronic Conditions Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, CMS, FDA, OS OD/OSP, NIA, OD/DPCPSI/OBSSR Recognizing the importance of Multiple Chronic Conditions (MCC) to patients, caregivers, and the health care system, the Assistant Secretary for Health convened an HHS-wide work group on MCC to identify options for improving the health of this population. The work group, in conjunction with other stakeholders, developed Multiple Chronic Conditions: A Strategic Framework. The Framework serves as a national-level roadmap for assisting HHS programs and public and private stakeholders to improve the health of individuals with MCC.

HHS meeting on International and Domestic Adoption Meeting/ Workshop ACF, CDC, OS, SAMHSA NIDA, NIMH Planning and hosting a multi-agency meeting titled "Federal Learning Exchange on Directions in Evidence-based Strategies for Youth Programs" for the purpose of developing a cross-agency perspective on lessons learned regarding the implementation of youth programs.
HHS National Promotores de Salud Initiative Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force AHRQ, CDC, CMS, HRSA, SAMHSA NHLBI Community health workers (CHWs) and promotores de salud are frontline public health workers who serve as a link between health/social services and communities to facilitate access to services and improve the quality and cultural competence of service delivery. The purpose of the collaborative activity was to establish the National Promotores de Salud Initiative in partnership with HHS agencies to: establish a steering committee, develop a national recognition for promotores, and develop a HHS Portal for promotores and a national database system to connect with the promotores networks.
HHS Nutrition Policy Board Other ACF, CDC, FDA, HRSA, IHS, OS, SAMHSA NIDDK This Board coordinates the Department''s nutrition policy development and program implementation and is the principle point of contact with USDA for nutrition policy.
HHS Quality Workgroup Other ACF, ACL, AHRQ, ATSDR, CDC, CMS, FDA, HRSA, IHS, OS, SAMHSA OD/DPCPSI/OBSSR, FIC, NCATS, NCCAM, NCI, NCMHD, NEI, NHGRI, NHLBI, NIA, NIAAA, NIAID, NIAMS, NIBIB, NICHD, NIDA, NIDCD, NIDCR, NIDDK, NIEHS, NIGMS, NIMH, NIMHD, NINDS, NINR, NLM Convened by the HHS to support the implementation of the provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) by the various HHS Operating Divisions (OpDivs) and includes senior-level representatives from 22 HHS agencies. The workgroup reviews, consults, and makes recommendations to ensure current HHS programs and initiatives align to the National Quality Strategy. The workgroup consults on the identification of specific measures, targeted goals, and annual benchmarks for relevant agencies in achieving the national priorities, provides a forum for HHS agencies and Operating Divisions to develop and share agency-specific plans to achieve the national priorities. The Workgroup also will develop processes to assess and foster alignment of the efforts with States and private sector initiatives.
HHS Tobacco Control Steering Committee Other CDC, FDA, HRSA, OS, OSG, SAMHSA NIDA, NCI This committee, led by the Department of Health and Human Services, coordinates and initiates tobacco control activities across agencies. Helped to develop the HHS Tobacco Control Strategic Action Plan and the Action Plan Progress Report.
HHS Violence Against Women Steering Committee Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force ACF, AHRQ, CDC, HRSA, IHS, OS, OSG, SAMHSA OD/OSP, NIA, NIAAA, NICHD, NIDA, NIMH, NLM, OD/DPCPSI, OD/DPCPSI/ORWH This is the committee that represents HHS as part of the implementation of the Violence Against Women (VAW) Act. This committee collaborates with the Departmeny of Justice to implement the VAW Act. Each year, NIH funds approximately $34M in VAW research across the institutes and centers.
