NKDEP aims to improve early detection of chronic kidney disease (CKD), facilitate identification of patients at greatest risk for progression to kidney failure, promote evidence-based interventions to slow progression of CKD, and support the coordination of Federal responses to CKD.

National Program to Reduce Cardiovascular Risk (NPRCR) Coordinating Committee Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force AHRQ, CDC, CMS, FDA, HRSA, IHS NHLBI The National Program to Reduce Cardiovascular Risk (NPRCR) Coordinating Committee is the leadership body for the broader NPRCR. The Committee seeks to reduce risk of cardiovascular disease through a national effort to implement evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and interventions to control cardiovascular risk factors (including high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, and overweight/obesity) in clinical practice settings. Coordinating Committee members engage their respective organizations in Program activities.

National Robotics Initiative Research Initiative FDA OD/OSP, NCATS, NIA, NIBIB, NICHD, NINDS, NINR The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) created the National Robotics Initiative to promote research in a variety of robot-related topics. This initiative is multifaceted and has included grant solicitations, workshops, meetings, and information exchange among the agencies involved. NIH joined as a major civilian aspect of this coordinated inter-agency plan which incorporates the following funding agencies: National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, National Aeronautics and Space Agency, U.S. Department of Agriculture (NIFA). Specifically, NIH has joined with NSF, USDA, and NASA to solicit R01 application in robotics. NICHD is focused on the human/machine interaction aspect of incorporating robots into the healthcare and rehabilitation systems, with particular emphasis on the needs of people with disabilities.
