The NCL serves as a national resource and knowledge base for cancer researchers and facilitates the development and translation of nanoscale particles and devices for clinical applications.
National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention (NAASP) Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, HRSA, IHS, OS, OSG, SAMHSA NIMH, NIDA, OD/DPCPSI/OBSSR, OD/DPCPSI/ODP The National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention (NAASP) is a public-private partnership for advancing the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention. The mission of the NAASP is to champion suicide prevention as a national priority; to catalyze efforts to implement high priority objectives of the NAASP; and to cultivate the resources needed to sustain progress. The NIMH Director is an ex officio member of the NAASP Executive Committee and Co-Chair of the NAASP Research Task Force. Additional NIMH staff serve on task forces pertaining to LGBT Youth, Military and Veterans, Youth in Justice Settings, and American Indian/Alaska Natives.
National Advisory Board for Medical Rehabilitation Research Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, CMS NICHD, CSR, NCATS, NCI, NHLBI, NIA, NIAMS, NIBIB, NIDCR, NINDS, NINR The Board meets twice a year to advise the directors of NIH, NICHD, and National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research (NCMRR) on matters and policies relating to the Center''s programs. The Board comprises 12 members representing health and scientific disciplines related to medical rehabilitation and 6 members representing persons with disabilities.
National ALS Registry Resource Development ATSDR, CDC NINDS The National ALS Registry is a Congressionally mandated registry for persons in the U.S. with ALS. It is the only population-based registry in the U.S. that collects information to help scientists learn more about who gets ALS and its causes.
National Asthma Control Initiative/National Asthma Education and Prevention Program Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, FDA NHLBI, NIAID, NIEHS The National Asthma Control Initiative (NACI) is a national effort to facilitate implementation of the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (NAEPP) Expert Panel Report-3 Asthma Guidelines implementation panel report. The NAEPP, which was initiated in 1989, seeks to enhance the quality of life for patients with asthma and decrease asthma-related morbidity and mortality by improving asthma awareness, diagnosis, and treatment.
National Asthma Education and Prevention Program Federal Liaison Group on Asthma (FLGA) Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force AHRQ, ATSDR, CDC, CMS, FDA, HRSA, OS OD/OSP, NHLBI, NIA, NIAID, NICHD, NIEHS, NIMHD, NINR The Federal Liaison Group on Asthma is a subcommittee of the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program that is charged with addressing ways to strengthen and improve the coordination of asthma-related activities across agencies of the Federal Government. The group provides a forum for federal agencies with major interest in asthma to exchange ideas and explore collaborative activities.
National Blood Disorders Program Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force AHRQ, CDC, CMS, FDA, HRSA, OS NHLBI, NIMHD The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) established the National Blood Disorders Program (NBDP) in accordance with the Institute’s strategic plan of moving scientific discovery from causes to cures. The program’s purpose is to coordinate a national effort to improve the management of hematological disorders focused on the implementation of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines to prevent, detect, and treat, complications.
National Children''s Study Research Initiative CDC NICHD The NICHD leads a consortium of federal agencies in conducting the National Children''s Study (NSC). This study is a large longitudinal study on the environmental effects of children''s health. This IAA is an agreement between CDC and NICHD in supporting the NCS. The CDC will provide prescreening of collection, processing, and storage supplies for selected environmental contaminants.
