Title Collaboration Type HHS Participating Agencies NIH Participating Institutes, Centers, and Offices Description
Board of Regents of the National Library of Medicine Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, OSG NLM The National Library of Medicine (NLM) Board of Regents (the Board) provides advice and recommendations on policy matters related to NLM. This includes guidance on the acquisition of materials, defining the scope, content, and organization of services, and establishing rules for the availability of NLM materials, publications, facilities, and services to different user groups. The Board may also make recommendations on research conducted at NLM, review and make recommendations about applications for grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements for support of medical library resources and systems, research in medical informatics and management of biotechnology information, training for research and the use of information management technology, biomedical publications, development and demonstration projects, educational technology, and related projects that show promise of making valuable contributions to NLM’s mission. The Board also advises on the development of a biomedical communications network through the support and maintenance of a national network of libraries of medicine.  https://www.nlm.nih.gov/od/bor/bor.html
Board of Scientific Counselors (BSC) of the CDC's National Center for Injury Prevention and Control Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, ACF, ACL, AHRQ, HRSA, IHS, SAMHSA NIA, NICHD, NIDA, NIMH The BSC advises the Secretary, Department of Health and Human Services; the Director, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); and the Director, National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) regarding surveillance, basic epidemiologic research, intervention research, and implementation, dissemination, and evaluation of promising and evidence-based strategies for the prevention of injury and violence. The Board makes recommendations regarding policies, strategies, objectives, projects, and priorities, and reviews progress toward injury and violence prevention.
Botanical Safety Consortium Research Initiative FDA NCCIH, NIEHS The Botanical Safety Consortium will provide a sound scientific basis for integrating existing botanical safety & toxicity information with the latest toxicological tools. This multi-partite, multi-stakeholder international effort will bring together key scientific experts to enhance the botanical safety toolkit and bring clarity to botanical dietary ingredient assessments.
Brain Attack Coalition Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC NINDS The Brain Attack Coalition (BAC) is a group of public and private entities representing medical, scientific, advocacy, and government professionals from across the stroke continuum. The BAC is dedicated to setting direction, advancing knowledge, and communicating best practices to improve our ability to prevent and combat stroke.
Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies (BRAIN) Initiative Research Initiative FDA NCCIH, NEI, NIA, NIAAA, NIBIB, NICHD, NIDA, NIDCD, NIMH, NINDS, OD/DPCPSI/OBSSR The Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies (BRAIN) Initiative is revolutionizing our understanding of the brain by developing and applying innovative technologies to study brain circuits and, ultimately, to develop new ways to treat brain disorders. Circuits of brain cells enable us to think, perceive our world, and act upon it, and disruption of these circuits underlies neurological, psychiatric, and substance misuse disorders. The BRAIN Initiative also facilitates collaborative neuroscience research partnerships, resource meetings, and working groups.
Brain Tumors in the United States Military Research Initiative USPHS NCI This research initiative focuses on gathering and disseminating epidemiologic data on primary benign and malignant brain and other CNS tumors in the United States Military Veterans population.
BRIDG Standard Development Research Initiative FDA NCI Developing and maintaining a conceptual data model that harmonize EMR data and protocol driven data *also a resource development collaboration type
Bridge to Artificial Intelligence Research Initiative FDA FIC, NCATS, NCCIH, NCI, NEI, NHGRI, NIA, NIAID, NIAMS, NIBIB, NIDDK, NIGMS, NIMH, NIMHD, NINDS, NLM, OD/All of Us, OD/DPCPSI/OBSSR, OD/DPCPSI/ODSS, OD/DPCPSI/OSC The Bridge to Artificial Intelligence (Bridge2AI) program seeks to propel biomedical research forward by setting the stage for widespread adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) that tackles complex biomedical challenges beyond human intuition. Bridge2AI works with representatives from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), National Science Foundation (NSF), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in order to bring expertise from across the federal government to help develop this groundbreaking new program that aims to harness the power of AI/ML for human health. Bridge2AI is also collaborating with DOE Office of Science program in Advanced Scientific Computing Research to jointly address important issues and challenges in developing AI and machine learning methods for privacy-sensitive datasets.
Bulk Office Supply Support Other OASH OD, OD/OM IAA funding allocated by HHS - Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH) for bulk (i.e. copier paper, notebooks) office supplies for their programs, to be used throughout FY25 as needed.
Burden of Disease U.S. Health Disparities Working Group Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC NCI, NHLBI, NIA, NIAMS, NIMHD, OD/DPCPSI/OBSSR, OD/DPCPSI/ODP Through this project, the U.S. Burden of Health Disparities Working Group at NIH aims to generate a landmark and comprehensive report and public platform with data on U.S. Burden of Health Disparities by Race/Ethnicity, Sex, Age, Socioeconomic Status and Geography.  The project entails producing detailed county-level estimates of disease burden stratified by race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status (SES), age, and sex for a vast array of diseases, injuries, and risk factors. The report would include a broad set of measures of the burden of disease (e.g., disability-adjusted life years and healthy life expectancy). This project would result in a platform for downloadable, publicly available data review and visualization tools for extracting information on these stratified analyses at the county-level for every U.S. County. CDC/NCVS is providing guidance on vital statistics data, algorithms and procedures used to generate life expectancy estimates, etc., by race and ethnicity.
