The HHS Tribal op-divs committee consists of representatives from HHS divisions who administer and oversee various health and human service programs involving Tribal communities and Native Americans. HHS op-divs committee works to coordinate and ensure effective service delivery and to foster advances in science and technology between federal agencies and Tribal governments and Native Americans. The HHS IEA op-divs committee supports HHS IEA as they serve as a crucial link between HHS and state, local, and Tribal governments, facilitating communication and coordination on key issues, including the Secretary's Tribal Advisory Committee and formal HHS Tribal consultation. |

The DHHS Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) committee has the responsibility for coordinating the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) response to issues related to violence against women and their children, and also coordinates DHHS violence-related activities with those of other Federal agencies. The members of the committee establish links with professional societies in the health and social service fields to increase attention to women’s health and violence issues. The members of the committee also serve as resource experts for the National Advisory Committee on VAW, which is chaired by the HHS Secretary and the DOJ Attorney General. |

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Viral Hepatitis Interagency Working Group was created by the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health to address a report sponsored by the Institute of Medicine entitled Hepatitis and Liver Cancer: A National Strategy for Prevention and Control of Hepatitis B and C. The group meets to discuss collaborations and activities directed at achieving the goals for viral hepatitis research and control highlighted in the IOM report. (Although the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIH Lead), the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, the National Institute on Drug Abuse, and the NIH Office of AIDS Research represent the National Institutes of Health as Working Group members, other NIH Institutes/Centers/Offices also provide input to the VHIG through their participation in the Trans-NIH Committee on Viral Hepatitis.) The working group helped develop the 2021-2025 Viral Hepatitis National Strategic Plan. |
