Cancer Moonshot Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force Not Reported NCI, NHLBI The 21st Century Cures Act, which was signed into law in December 2016, authorized $1.8 billion to fund the Cancer Moonshot over a 7 year period. The goal of the Cancer Moonshot is to accelerate progress in cancer, including prevention and screening, from cutting edge basic research to wider uptake of standard of care.

Cancer Moonshot, Cancer Cabinet Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force Not Reported NCI Part of the Cancer Moonshot, the Cancer Cabinet is tasked to tackle the following priorities:Closing the screening gapUnderstanding and addressing environmental exposureDecreasing the incidence of preventable cancersBringing cutting-edge research through the pipeline to patients and communitiesSupporting patients and caregivers
Cancer Moonshot, Global Health Subgroup Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force Not Reported NCI Global health partner group subsidiary to Cancer Cabinet
Cancer Moonshot, White House Smoking Cessation Forum Steering Committee Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force Not Reported NCI Convene key federal agencies and other partners to launch an effort that will dramatically expand the availability of smoking cessation treatment, as well as public communication and other efforts in support of smoking cessation
CCDI Molecular Targets Platform Resource Development FDA NCI The CCDI Molecular Targets Platform allows users to browse and identify associations between molecular targets, diseases, and drugs. The RACE Act requires evaluation of new molecularly targeted drugs and biologics “intended for the treatment of adult cancers and directed at a molecular target substantially relevant to the growth or progression of a pediatric cancer.” This act also eliminates the orphan exemption for pediatric studies of cancer drugs directed at relevant molecular targets. In accordance with the RACE Act, the FDA, in collaboration with NCI and the pediatric cancer research community, developed a Relevant Molecular Target List (RMTL) to provide guidance to industry in planning for new drug and biologic submissions. NCI converted this RMTL list into a computer-readable format with gene-level granularity and all targets mapped and hyperlinked to additional resources and identifiers; integrated this list into Molecular Targets Platform.
CDC Acute Flaccid Myelitis (AFM) Task Force Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC NIAID, NINDS The AFM Task Force was established to aid in the ongoing investigation to define the cause of, and improve treatment and outcomes for, patients with AFM. The Task Force functions as a work group of the CDC Board of Scientific Counselors, Deputy Director for Infectious Diseases.https://www.cdc.gov/ddid/bsc/afm-task-force.html
CDC Advanced Molecular Detection Platform & NGS Quality Committee Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, CDC NLM The CDC-led Technical Coordinating Committee for Advanced Molecular Detection Platform and Next-Generation Sequencing Quality (TANQ) coordinates information sharing and efforts across the CDC and state public health labs. With a focus on bacteria and viruses, TANQ prioritizes activities, provides feedback, and fosters the development of bioinformatics capacity and a CDC bioinformatics platform to support public health needs. TANQ meetings are primarily attended by state public health lab representatives, CDC employees, and some academic partners.
CDC COVID-19 Testing Coordination Committee Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, OASH NICHD This Committee shares COVID-19 testing updates for activities in school settings to share progress and coordinate amongst different federal agencies.
CDC Integration with GrantSolutions Resource Development CDC, ACF OD/OER Collaboration with GrantSolutions to allow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Research programs to seamlessly use electronic Research Administration (eRA) research grant support services, including the eRA Commons grantee portal and the eRA Peer Review suite while having grants management staff process awards within GrantSolutions.
