This working group was established to promote the dissemination of the NIMHD HDPulse interventions portal and its adaptation to include the HHS Office of Minority Health’s (OMH) evidence-informed practices. Building on OMH’s efforts to disseminate and spread evidence-informed practices and NIMHD’s development and maintenance of HDPulse, this working group is expected to achieve the following outcomes:Identification and dissemination of health equity-promoting evidence-informed practices, particularly those focused on addressing racial and ethnic health disparities, through HDPulseIncreased awareness and utilization of HDPulse, including health equity-promoting interventions in the Interventions Portal, by government agencies, organizations, and practitioners serving racial and ethnic minority populations.

This study follows more than 20,000 men and women over 50, offering insight into the changing lives of the older US population. Launched in 1992, this multidisciplinary, longitudinal study has become known as the Nation’s leading resource for data on the combined health and economic conditions of older Americans. SSA co-funds the HRS via a JFCA with NIA and participates in a monitoring committee managed by NIA.

NCI's Health Information National Trends Survey (HINTS) was first fielded in 2003 with the goal of detecting changes and trends in communication and technology, identifying and tracking health information support needs in the population, documenting disparities and communication inequalities, and identifying opportunities for applied communication interventions. HINTS has partnered with the HHS Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) since 2017 to field items related to implementation of the Affordable Care Act and the widespread adoption of electronic health records. This co-funding partnership continued in FY23 and is biennial in nature, to coincide with the survey's biennial fielding. Over the years, other federal agencies and offices have been engaged with the HINTS program in various capacities (as co-funders, item champions, data users, etc.). Past partners have included the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP)—which uses HINTS to track national progress toward six Healthy People 2030 targets related to health communication and health information technology objectives.

The Federal Interagency Workgroup (FIW) leads the development and implementation of the Healthy People initiative along with individual workgroups of federal subject matter experts representing more than 20 federal agencies. It also helps review data and resources associated with the objectives and provides ongoing science-based and expert consultation to the Assistant Secretary for Health throughout the decade.
