HHS Global Health Collaborative Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force ACF, ACL, AHRQ, ATSDR, CDC, CMS, FDA, HRSA, IHS, OS, OSG, SAMHSA NIMH This interagency working group meets to provide a forum within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that identifies Global Health issues relevant to the HHS Global mental health agenda.
HHS Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Opportunistic Infections in HIV-Exposed and HIV-Infected Children Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC NICHD, NIAID, OD/DPCPSI/OAR These guidelines were prepared by the Opportunistic Infections Working Group under the auspices of the Office of AIDS Research Advisory Council (OARAC) of the NIH. Briefly, six co-editors selected and appointed by their respective agencies (i.e., NIH, CDC, IDSA) convened working groups of clinicians and scientists with subject matter expertise in specific HIV-associated opportunistic infections. The co-editors appointed a leader for each working group, which reviewed the literature since the last publication of these guidelines, conferred over a period of several months, and produced draft revised recommendations. Issues requiring specific attention were reviewed and discussed by the co-editors and the leaders from each working group at the annual meeting of the IDSA in Vancouver, Canada, in October 2010. After further revision, the guidelines were reviewed by patient care advocates and by primary care providers with extensive experience in the management of HIV infection.

HHS Kidney Care Work Group Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, FDA, OS NIAID The goals of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Kidney Care Work Group are to 1) reduce the number of new patients needing organ transplants by 25% by 2030; 2) provide healthier options for those on life-saving protocols so that 80 % of dialysis patients can be treated by alternatives to current dialysis by 2025; and 3) expand the supply of organs 3 fold by 2025.
HHS Measurement Policy Council Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force AHRQ, CDC, CMS, FDA, HRSA, IHS, SAMHSA NLM The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Measurement Policy Council was convened in early 2012 to begin the work of aligning measures across HHS. Composed of senior-level representatives from Agencies and operating divisions across HHS, the group also addresses new measure development and implementation, and measurement policy. The Council has so far reviewed nine topics to date: hypertension control, hospital-acquired conditions/patient safety, HCAHPs, smoking cessation, depression screening and care coordination, HIV/AIDS, perinatal, and obesity/BMI. While these measures are used for Federal programs, the Measurement Policy Council supports State and private-sector efforts to adopt core measure sets for further harmonization and alignment across the health and health care community. NLM serves on this council.
HHS Noise-Induced Hearing Loss Federal Partner Working Group Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC NIDCD Work group to coordinate and collaborate the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) activities and messages related to noise-induced hearing loss. Federal partners include the National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Environmental Health and National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.
HHS Panel on Treatment of HIV-Infected Pregnant Women and Prevention of Perinatal Transmission Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, FDA, HRSA NICHD, NIAID, OD/DPCPSI/OAR Also called ''Recommendations for the Use of Antiretroviral Drugs in Pregnant Women with HIV Infection and Interventions to Reduce Perinatal HIV Transmission in the United States''. These Guidelines update the October 2016 Perinatal Guidelines. The Department of Health and Human Services Panel on Treatment of Pregnant Women Living with HIV and Prevention of Perinatal Transmission (the Panel), a working group of the Office of AIDS Research Advisory Council, develops these guidelines. The guidelines provide health care providers with information for discussion with pregnant women living with HIV infection to enable collaborative, informed decision-making regarding the use of ARV drugs during pregnancy, use of scheduled cesarean delivery to reduce perinatal transmission of HIV, and decision-making around the use of ARV drugs for prophylaxis of infants exposed to HIV. The recommendations in these Guidelines are accompanied by a discussion of various circumstances that commonly occur in clinical practice and the factors that influence treatment considerations. The Panel recognizes that strategies to prevent perinatal transmission and concepts related to management of HIV in pregnant women are rapidly evolving and will consider new evidence and adjust recommendations accordingly.
