NIH-FDA Joint Leadership Council Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force FDA OD/OSP, NCATS, NCCIH, NCI, NHLBI, NIAID, NIDDK, NIMH, NINDS The Joint Leadership Council will work together to help ensure that regulatory considerations form an integral component of biomedical research planning, and that the latest science is integrated into the regulatory review process. Such collaboration and integration will advance the development of new products for the treatment, diagnosis and prevention of common and rare diseases and enhance the safety, quality, and efficiency of the clinical research and medical product approval enterprise. The formation of the Leadership Council represents a commitment on the part of both agencies to forge a strong partnership and to leverage the strengths of each agency toward this common goal.
NIH/President''s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Collaboration for Implementation Science and Impact Evaluation Research Initiative CDC NIAID, NCI, NICHD, NIMH, OD/DPCPSI/OAR In FY 2011 a NIH/President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Request for Application (RFA) was issued for 3-year grant projects on Implementation Science in PEPFAR. Funding began in FY 2012. This RFA went out concurrently with a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) RFA. The two agencies worked together to ensure awards were complementary and that there was no overlap.
NIH/President''s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Prevention of Maternal Child HIV Transmission (PMTCT) Implementation Science Alliance Other CDC FIC, NIAID, NICHD, NIMH, OD/DPCPSI/OAR, OD/DPCPSI/ORWH Using the NIH/President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Collaboration for Advancing Implementation Science in Prevention of Maternal Child HIV Transmission (PMTCT) request for applications (RFA) as a platform, the NIH-PEPFAR PMTCT Implementation Science Alliance promoted collaboration between implementation science researchers and program implementers and policy makers on the ground. Basing this work on actual implementation research issues rather than hypothetical examples, this project provided a unique function, serving as the “connective tissue” over 2 years for the PIs and collaborators and program implementers on the ground. In this capacity, the Alliance created a forum for the network of grantees, PMTCT implementers, and policymakers on a regular basis enabling cross-fertilization of ideas, insights and experiences as the research and the field progress.
NIH/President''s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Supplement Research Initiative CDC, SAMHSA NIAID, NIAAA, NICHD, NIDA, NIDDK One-year awards for implementation science projects addressing critical questions for President''s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) programs.
Northwest Portland Tribal Registry Project Resource Development IHS NCI Over the past 10 years, health care delivery for Northwest American Indians and Alaska Natives has evolved from a centralized system maintained by the Indian Health Service (IHS) to a diverse and complex environment. The NCC also plays a key role in the development of nutrition research policy at the NIH. The mandate of the Nutrition Coordinating Committee NCC is to review, stimulate, and encourage the necessary support of nutrition research and training and to define the role of nutrition in health promotion and disease prevention and management. NCC membership includes a representative and alternate from the 20 NIH Institutes and 7 Centers. In addition, offices and agencies within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and the Department of Defense (DOD) have also appointed liaison representatives to the Committee. The NCC meets monthly to provide an open forum for members to report on current and future nutrition research, policy activities, and research funding and training opportunities.
