Agricultural Health Study Research Initiative CDC NCI A study exploring potential causes of cancer and other diseases among farmers and their families and among commercial pesticide applicators.
Agricultural Health Study: Health Follow-up Survey (Phase 4) Health Survey CDC NIEHS Collaborate on long-term follow-up of the Agricultural Health Study Cohort - a cohort of pesticide applicators and spouses. This project includes active follow-up with participants to identify long-term health effects potentially linked to agricultural exposures. Funding provided by NIEHS; scientific input provided by NIOSH and NCI.
Agricultural Health Study: Lung Health Study Health Survey CDC NIEHS This is a field study nested within the Agricultural Health Study to explore genetic and agricultural risk factors for respiratory disease. Participants with and without questionnaire-defined asthma are visited at home to complete clinical studies to classify respiratory disease and quantify extent of respiratory dysfunction, provide additional questionnaire data, and provide environmental and biological samples.
Agricultural Health Study: Respiratory disease studies Health Survey CDC NIEHS, NCI Collaboration on respiratory disease analyses from the Agricultural Health Study. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) contributes to survey implementation and provides an American Public Health Association (APHA) fellow to conduct analysis.
AIDS International Training and Research Program (AITRP) Supplements Training Initiative CDC FIC, NCI, NIAID, NIDA, NIDCR, NINR The goal of the AIDS International Training and Research (AITRP) program is to build multi-disciplinary biomedical, behavioral, and social science research capacity for the prevention, care, and treatment of HIV/AIDS and HIV-related conditions in adults and children in low-and middle-income countries. Research training will be provided to scientists at institutions in countries defined by the World Bank criteria as low- and middle-income. PEPFAR/CDC-COP FY12 funded supplements to parent AITRP awards in Zambia through Vanderbilt; Uganda and Vietnam through Berkeley; Tanzania through Baylor, Dartmouth/Boston University; South Africa through Columbia, and Ukraine through SUNY Medical Center Downstate.
AIDSinfo/InfoSIDA Public Education Campaign CDC, CMS, FDA, HRSA OD/OSP, NIAID, NLM, OD/DPCPSI/OAR AIDSinfo, a service of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), offers access to the latest, federally approved HIV/AIDS medical practice guidelines, HIV treatment and prevention clinical trials, and other research information for health care providers, researchers, people affected by HIV/AIDS, and the general public. These English- and Spanish-language websites (InfoSIDA) assist in the dissemination of the Public Health Service Treatment Guidelines.
