The committee''s three main goals are: (1) to discuss and exchange information on ongoing activities in research, information dissemination and outreach, health care services, training, and public policy related to women''s health and the environment, (2) to ensure cooperation and consolidation of efforts between the various federal agencies and offices that work on the issue of women''s health and the environment, (3) to identify gaps, foster collaborations between agencies, and plan and implement activities that address identified needs.

Federal Partners in the Gulf Long-Term Follow-up (GuLF) Study Working Group Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force ACF, ATSDR, CDC, CMS, FDA, HRSA, OS, SAMHSA OD/DPCPSI, CIT, NHGRI, NIEHS, NIMH, NLM, OD/DPCPSI/OSC The Federal Partners in the Gulf Long-Term Follow-up (GuLF) Study Working Group is an interagency group of Federal agencies responding to potential health effects of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill disaster. The working group was convened to provide input on the design and conduct of the Gulf Long-Term Follow-up (GuLF) study, a longitudinal study of oil spill clean-up workers led by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences with support from the NIH Common Fund, NIH OD and BP. Working group members share ideas on ways to maximize interagency efficiency and effectiveness by working collaboratively on areas of common interest and sharing data and samples collected by their agencies, they identify data collection needs that could be met by the GuLF study rather than duplicate surveys to the same population, and they identify agency resources that could be brought together to improve the GuLF study. Scientific oversight for the study is provided by the National Academy of Science''s Institute of Medicine. This helps to facilitate information exchange and coordination among federal agencies with regards to understanding the toxicity and health effects associated with the of Gulf oil spill exposures among workers and affected communities.

Federal Sudden Unexpected/Unexplained Infant Death (SUID) Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Workgroup Other ACF, CDC, HRSA, IHS, OS NICHD This workgroup is a collaboration of Federal Partners to coordinate efforts to reduce infant mortality from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and Sudden Unexpected/Unexplained Infant Death (SUID), and to make the Federal effort to address SIDS and SUID more efficient and effective by assuring complete and consistent communication, avoiding duplication of effort, and integrating the varied perspectives and efforts of the different agencies. This workgroup address the public health challenges of SIDS and SUID and opportunities for prevention in the United States. The purpose of the partnership is to establish and enhance relationships among Federal agencies with responsibilities for SIDS and SUID. The partner agencies intend to work together to improve communication and coordination, and to collaborate on a range of activities designed to reduce, and, ultimately, eliminate SIDS and SUID, including the elimination of racial, ethnic and socio-economic disparities.

It offers a forum for sharing information, learning from each other and invited speakers, and facilitating the development, early in the planning stages, of collaborative research activities based on each agency''s mission. Serves to develop and foster collaborative activities among the government agencies in bone diseases.
Federal Working Group on Dietary Supplements Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force AHRQ, CDC, FDA OD/OSP, CC, CSR, FIC, NCATS, NCCAM, NCI, NEI, NHGRI, NHLBI, NIA, NIAAA, NIAID, NIAMS, NIBIB, NICHD, NIDA, NIDCD, NIDCR, NIDDK, NIEHS, NIGMS, NIMH, NIMHD, NINDS, NINR, NLM, OD/DPCPSI/OBSSR, OD/DPCPSI/ODP The Federal Working Group on Dietary Supplements is comprised of individuals from federal agencies that share information and discuss issues, initiatives, and research related to dietary supplements. The Working Group meets twice a year and serves as means of communication between the Office of Dietary Supplements (ODS) and its federal partners, reviewing and discussing Guidelines for Dietary Supplements (botanics, probiotics/prebiotics, vitamins) reference standards, collaborative initiatives, state of the science topics, conferences, and workshops.
