"NKDEP is an initiative of the National Institutes of Health, designed to reduce the morbidity and mortality caused by kidney disease and its complications. NKDEP aims to improve early detection of chronic kidney disease (CKD), facilitate identification of patients at greatest risk for progression to kidney failure, promote evidence-based interventions to slow progression of CKD, and support the coordination of Federal responses to CKD.

The National Partnership for Action to End Health Disparities (NPA) is sponsored by the Office of Minority Health, HHS. The Federal Interagency Health Equity Team (FIHET) was established to foster communications and activities of the NPA within federal agencies and their partners; and to increase the efficiencies and effectiveness of related policies and programs at the national, state, tribal, and local levels. NIMH staff serve on the FIHET, including co-chairing the Leadership Subcommittee and participating on the Data, Research, and Evaluation Subcommittee.
