The Federal Asian Pacific American Council (FAPAC) NIH Chapter Other AHRQ, CDC, FDA, HRSA, SAMHSA, USPHS NIMHD The goals of FAPAC NIH are to: 1) assist NIH in promoting, establishing, and maintaining an effective and equitable participation of AA&NHPI in the workforce; 2) promote overall awareness of the impact of AA&NHPI culture, contribution, work ethics, and behavior as related to government employment; 3) promote a better understanding of and potential solutions to address equal employment opportunity, racial equality, and health disparities of the AA&NHPI community; 4) collaborate with the AA&NHPI with Employee Resource Groups and FAPAC chapters of other HHS Agencies; and 5) recognize AA&NHPI leaders, promote leadership development and career advancement of AA&NHPI employees at NIH and their families.
The Golestan Cohort Study of Esophageal Cancer Research Initiative CDC NCI NCI and the CDC are collaborating on a pilot study to measure nitrate in urine. The aim of the pilot is to determine if drinking water sources in high and low nitrate regions of Golestan province are associated with higher urinary nitrate concentrations (a biomarker of ingestion) after accounting for dietary intake.
The Impact of Tobacco Use on Oral Health and the Oral Microbiome Research Initiative FDA, CDC NCI The US Food and Drug Administration Intramural Center of Tobacco Regulatory Science Award Program funded a project examining how tobacco affects oral health and the oral microbiome in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) study.
The Incidence of Breast and Other Cancers Among Female Flight Attendants Research Initiative CDC NCI A cohort study of approximately 10,000 Pan Am flight attendants to determine cancer incidence (primarily breast cancer) associated with cosmic radiation and circadian disruption from their work.
The Interagency Work Group on Drinking and Drug Use in Women and Girls Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force ACF, ACL, ASPE, ASPR, ATSDR, CDC, CMS, HRSA, IHS, SAMHSA NIAAA, NIMH Members of IWG work collaboratively to develop and implement joint initiatives to improve the quantity, range, and quality of prevention, treatment, and recovery services for mental health and SUDs among women and girls across the lifespan.
The NSTC Nanoscale Science, Engineering, and Technology (NSET) Subcommittee Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, FDA NCI, NIBIB, NIDCR This subcommittee of the National Science and Technology Council's Committee on Technology is responsible for coordinating the National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI). The NNI, established in 2001, is a U.S. Government research and development (R&D) initiative. Over thirty Federal departments, independent agencies, and commissions work together toward the shared vision of a future in which the ability to understand and control matter at the nanoscale leads to ongoing revolutions in technology and industry that benefit society. The NSET Subcommittee is co-chaired by representatives from two agencies and from the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP). NSET participants work together to develop shared goals and priorities for the NNI and to develop a comprehensive nanotechnology R&D program that leverages individual agency resources and investments. 
Tickborne Disease Working Group (HHS) Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, CMS, FDA, OS NIAID The Tick-Borne Disease Working Group was established by Congress in 2016 as part of the 21st Century Cures Act to provide subject matter expertise and to review federal efforts related to all tick-borne diseases, to help ensure interagency coordination and minimize overlap, and to examine research priorities. The focus of this effort is the development of a report to the Secretary of Health and Human Services and Congress on the findings and any recommendations of the Working Group for the federal response to tick-borne disease prevention, treatment, and research, as well as how to address gaps in these areas.
Tobacco and Nicotine Research Interest Group (TANRIG) Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, FDA, SAMHSA CSR, FIC, NCCIH, NCI, NHGRI, NHLBI, NIA, NIAAA, NIAID, NIDA, NIDCR, NIEHS, NIGMS, NIMH, NIMHD, NLM, OD/DPCPSI/ODP, OD/DPCPSI/ODS The Tobacco and Nicotine Research Interest Group (TANRIG) was formed in January 2003 with the goal of increasing collaboration, coordination, and communication of tobacco- and nicotine-related research among National Institutes of Health Institutes and Centers, as well as with other relevant US Department of Health and Human Services agencies.

Tobacco Product Disease Risks Research Initiative FDA NCI The NCI and the FDA-Center for Tobacco Products, in collaboration with the US Census Bureau, co-lead this study, which harmonizes data on cigarette, cigar, and pipe use from various Tobacco Use Supplements that have been administered over the years as part of the Current Population Survey. The participants in these surveys have been followed for mortality by linkage to the National Death Index. These data are used to provide contemporary estimates of the mortality risks of daily and non-daily use of cigarettes, pipes, and cigars.
