In collaboration with the Indian Health Service (IHS) and the Administration on Aging/Administration for Community Living (AoA/ACL), the Work Group conducts outreach to approximately 1600 IHS Community Health Representatives (CHRs) and 270 AoA/ACL Title VI grantees nationwide through the e-newsletter, Honoring Health: Resources for American Indians and Alaska Natives. The e-newsletter features a wide range of NIH resources and is distributed to IHS CHRs, AoA/ACL grantees, and other subscribed individuals that provide services to Native communities. The purpose of the project is to increase awareness among CHRs and Title VI grantees about the availability of free or low-cost, science-based health information for patients and the general public.

NIH COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines Panel Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, FDA NIAID The Panel was formed in March 2020, at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in the US, to provide clinicians with rapidly updated guidance on how to care for patients with COVID-19. Coordinated by NIH, the Panel includes members from academia and professional societies and federal agencies, including BARDA, CDC, DoD, FDA, and VA. Working groups that address different areas of the guidelines are charged with identifying relevant information and published scientific literature then conducting a systematic, comprehensive review of that information to determine recommendations.

The Coordinating Committee makes recommendations to the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) Director and the Director of the National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research with respect to the content of the research plan and activities that are carried out in conjunction with other components of NIH and with other Federal Government agencies.

Previously, as a working group under the aegis of the Trans-NIH BioMedical Informatics Coordinating Committee (BMIC), the group provided advice to the development of a CDE Repository that serves as a platform for searching, harmonizing, developing, and disseminating CDEs used by NIH Institutes and Centers; Task Force members continue to work with the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to improve this publicly available platform. The Task Force also maintains a web portal with information about NIH-supported CDE initiatives that are intended for use by NIH-funded researchers. The Task Force continues to take steps to encourage the use of CDEs by NIH-funded researchers, minimize overlap and redundancy in CDE initiatives, improve interoperability and compatibility between and among CDE initiatives and with other standards development activities (e.g., related to electronic health records), and assist NIH Institute and Center staff and researchers in identifying and using CDEs that are relevant to their projects.

In 2020, a porfolio analysis was conducted of NIH and CDC applications and funded research pertaining to housing and health.
