The Metabolomics Scientific Interest Group was created to help stimulate more interest in the field and aims to bring interested NIH program officials, intramural investigators and others together. The group will have periodic webinars and seminars that highlight recent work in the field. Additionally, the listserv will be used to communicate information on upcoming metabolomics-related seminars, funding opportunities, and other NIH activities and initiatives.

The National Interagency Confederation for Biological Research (NICBR) is a consortium of eight agencies with a common vision of Federal research partners working in synergy to achieve a healthier and more secure nation. It serves as a framework for facilitating and encouraging interaction among the NICBR member organizations where there are areas of mutual interest. Members collaborate and share technical expertise and scientific services. This multiagency confederation operates by consensus to ensure a balanced direction and focus. The eight members include elements of the Department of Defense, Health and Human Services, Agriculture, and Homeland Security. The mission of NICBR is to develop unique knowledge, tools, and products by leveraging advanced technologies and innovative discoveries to secure and defend the health of the American people.

The NNCSS is a congressionally mandated program of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The authorizing legislation requires CDC to "enhance and expand infrastructure and activities to track the epidemiology of neurological diseases and incorporate information obtained through such activities into an integrated surveillance system, which may consist of or include a registry, to be known as the National Neurological Conditions Surveillance System."

The National Robotics Initiative 3.0: Innovations in Integration of Robotics (NRI-3.0) program was launched by NSF in February of 2021. It builds upon the preceding National Robotics Initiative (NRI) programs to support fundamental research in the United States that will advance the science of robot integration. The program supports research that promotes integration of robots to the benefit of humans including human safety and human independence. The National Institute of Health (NIH) has joined NRI 3.0 to promote robotics to address health needs. The first round of funding will occur in FY2022.

The Subcommittee on Open Science (SOS) advances Federal efforts to support open science by increasing access to, and use of, the results of federally funded research and development, including, but not limited to, scholarly publications and digital data. Among its responsibilities, the SOS aims to improve implementation of policies to increase access to the results of federally funded scientific research and to identify additional steps that Federal Departments and Agencies can take to enhance the preservation, discoverability, accessibility, quality, and utility of research outputs. Meets monthly to advance government-wide efforts to advance open science by coordinating agency efforts to improve access to publications, data, and other outputs of Federally funded research
