Recruiting Older Adults into Research (ROAR) Tookit Research Initiative ACL, CDC NIA The National Institute on Aging (NIA) at NIH, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Administration for Community Living (ACL) are collaborating on the Recruiting Older Adults into Research (ROAR) project to encourage older adults and their family caregivers, including underrepresented populations, to consider participating in research.
Reentry Research Network Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force ACF, SAMHSA NIDA, OD/DPCPSI/OBSSR This is a subgroup that reports to the Federal Interagency Reentry Council. The purpose of this group is to bring together numerous federal agencies to make communities safer, assist those returning from prison and jail to becoming productive, tax-paying citizens, and save taxpayer dollars by lowering the direct and collateral costs of incarceration. NIDA serves on the HHS Re-entry/CJ working group. Staff meets by phone monthly.
Regenerative Medicine Innovation Project Meeting/ Workshop FDA NHLBI, NCATS, NEI, NIA, NIAID, NIAMS, NIBIB, NIDCD, NIDCR, NIDDK, NIMH, NINDS The 21st Century Cures Act, passed in December 2016, establishes a Regenerative Medicine Innovation Project (RMIP) to accelerate the field by supporting clinical research on adult stem cells while promoting the highest standards for carrying out scientific research and protecting patient safety. In recognition of the integral role of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the successful development of this field, NIH is leading the RMIP in coordination FDA.
RePORT South Africa Research Initiative CDC, OS NIAID RePORT South Africa is a jointly funded project between the NIH, PEPFAR, and the South African Medical Research Council and Department of Science and Technology to establish a consortium of TB researchers in South Africa.
Repurposing Food and Drug Administration Approved Drugs for a Radiation Indication Meeting Meeting/ Workshop BARDA, FDA NIAID The purpose of the meeting was to bring together medical countermeasures stakeholders, including academic researchers, industry, and funding and regulatory agencies to consider challenges and opportunities of gaining approval for drugs for a radiation indication that have another approved use. Through presentations from industry, academia, and government, and a guided discussion session, information was shared to highlight ways to address potential hurdles. A meeting report will be generated based on the workshop discussions and outcomes.
Research and Surveillance Working Group of the HHS LGBT Policies Coordinating Committee Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force AHRQ, CDC, CMS, FDA, IHS, OS, SAMHSA OD/DPSCSI/SGMRO The Working Group is a cross-Departmental group that initiates dialogue to help harmonize efforts and prevent duplication with respect to LGBT/SGM research.

Research in Diabetes Mellitus, Its Complications, and Obesity Research Initiative IHS NIDDK The objectives are to identify the determinants and understand the progression of type 2 diabetes, obesity, and other chronic diseases in Pima Indians.
Research to Guide Practice Enhancing HIV/AIDS Platforms to Address Non- Communicable Diseases in Low Resource Settings (HIV/NCD Integration Project) Research Initiative CDC FIC, NCI, NHLBI, NIAID, NICHD, NIDDK, NIMH, NIMHD, NINDS, NINR, OD/DPCPSI/OAR Research to guide practice: Enhancing HIV/AIDS platforms to address non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in low-resource settings (the HIV/NCD Integration Project) aims to bring together researchers, implementers, and government representatives to articulate practical goals, approaches, and a related research agenda to incorporate prevention, care, and treatment for NCDs into HIV/AIDS platforms in sub-Saharan Africa. The HIV/NCD Integration Project focuses on people living with HIV, many of whom are being treated successfully for HIV, but who are increasingly experiencing co-morbid diseases or conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, and depression. This project has produced landscape analyses, is establishing research agendas and priorities, and supports products, including modeled data, to enhance NCD services through HIV platforms.
