Bridging Knowledge Gaps to Understand How Zika virus (ZIKV) Exposure and Infection Affect Child Development Workshop Meeting/ Workshop CDC, FDA, HRSA, OS NICHD, FIC, NCI, NHGRI, NIAAA, NIAID, NIDCR, NIEHS, NIGMS, NIMH, NINDS, NINR ZIKV is a growing, global epidemic. ZIKV has been associated with numerous birth and developmental defects, such as microcephaly, and other pregnancy and birth-related problems, including miscarriages, stillbirths, and other in utero complications. Because of these health issues, it is imperative that the scientific community understand the effects of ZIKV on pregnancy and pregnancy outcomes. The purpose of this workshop is to identify optimal approaches for treating and caring for the generation of children exposed to ZIKV in the womb.
Burkholderia Interagency Working Group Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force OS NIAID This interagency working group coordinates activities related to the Burkholderia research portfolios of NIAID, Biomedical Advanced Research and development Authority (BARDA), and Defense Threat Reduction Agency, and shares data related to the regulatory pathway of existing and novel medical countermeasures against melioidosis and glanders.
Cancer and Women''s Health Interagency Agreement Research Initiative FDA NCI This formal agreement establishes the framework and procedures to enhance collaborations and exchange of information between the FDA’s Office of Women’s Health (OWH) and the NCI’s Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD). Working together, FDA and NCI seek to increase scientific knowledge and understanding of cancer in women through targeted basic, clinical, bio-behavioral, translational, and community-based participatory research approaches/efforts. FDA and NCI both recognize the need for a unified approach to advancing scientific knowledge related to cancer and women’s health. This harmonized approach will aid in advancing the public health of all women through innovation in cancer research and medical therapies.
Cancer Control Plan, Link, Act, Network with Evidence-Based Tools (P.L.A.N.E.T) Resource Development AHRQ, CDC, SAMHSA NCI Cancer control planners, program staff, and researchers have the same goals: to reduce cancer risk, the number of new cancer cases, and the number of deaths from cancer, as well as enhance the quality of life for cancer survivors. While many share the same goals, all do not have easy access to resources that can facilitate the transfer of evidence-based research findings into practice. This Cancer Control P.L.A.N.E.T. (Plan, Link, Act, Network with Evidence-based Tools) portal provides access to data and resources that can help planners, program staff, and researchers to design, implement and evaluate evidence-based cancer control programs.
Cancer Moonshot Blue Ribbon Panel Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force FDA OD/OSP, NCI The Cancer Moonshot Blue Ribbon Panel led the efforts of seven working groups that developed recommendations to accelerate the pace of cancer research, so as to achieve a decade''s worth of progress in just five years. The panel and the working groups consisted of scientific experts from various fields that span academia, industry, government, and advocacy organizations.
CDC and HRSA Advisory Committee on HIV, Viral Hepatitis, and STD Prevention and Treatment (CHACHSPT) Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, CMS, FDA, HRSA, IHS, OS, SAMHSA OD/DPCPSI/OAR The CDC / HRSA Advisory Committee on HIV, Viral Hepatitis and STD Prevention and Treatment shall advise the Secretary; the Director, CDC; and the Administrator and Associate Administrator for HIV/AIDS, and HRSA, regarding objectives, strategies, policies, and priorities for HIV and STD/hepatitis prevention and treatment efforts including surveillance of HIV infection, AIDS, STDs/hepatitis, and related behaviors; epidemiologic, behavioral, health services, and laboratory research on HIV/AIDS and STDs/hepatitis; identification of policy issues related to HIV/STD/hepatitis professional education, patient healthcare delivery, and prevention services; agency policies about prevention of HIV/AIDS and other STDs, treatment, healthcare delivery, and research and training; strategic issues influencing the ability of CDC and HRSA to fulfill their missions of providing prevention and treatment services; programmatic efforts to prevent and treat HIV and STDs/hepatitis; and support to the agencies in their development of responses to emerging health needs related to HIV and other STDs/hepatitis.
