National Neurological Conditions Surveillance System (NNCSS) Research Initiative CDC NINDS The NNCSS is a congressionally mandated program of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The authorizing legislation requires CDC to "enhance and expand infrastructure and activities to track the epidemiology of neurological diseases and incorporate information obtained through such activities into an integrated surveillance system, which may consist of or include a registry, to be known as the National Neurological Conditions Surveillance System."
National PAD Action Plan Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, CMS, FDA NHLBI, NIA, NIDDK Public-private collaboration led by the American Heart Association (AHA) to develop and implement a national action plan to raise peripheral artery disease (PAD) awareness through public and professional education; improve outcomes for individuals with PAD; increase PAD research; and coordinate advocacy.

National Response Team (NRT) Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force ASPR, ATSDR, CDC NIEHS The U.S. National Response Team (NRT) provides technical assistance, resources and coordination on preparedness, planning, response and recovery activities for emergencies involving hazardous substances, pollutants and contaminants, oil, and weapons of mass destruction in natural and technological disasters and other environmental incidents of national significance.
National Robotics Initiative (NRI) Research Initiative CDC NIBIB, NCATS, NEI, NIA, NINR, NICHD The National Robotics Initiative 3.0: Innovations in Integration of Robotics (NRI-3.0) program was launched by NSF in February of 2021. It builds upon the preceding National Robotics Initiative (NRI) programs to support fundamental research in the United States that will advance the science of robot integration. The program supports research that promotes integration of robots to the benefit of humans including human safety and human independence. The National Institute of Health (NIH) has joined NRI 3.0 to promote robotics to address health needs. The first round of funding will occur in FY2022.

National Science and Technology Council, Office of Science and Technology Policy, Subcommittee on Open Science (NSTC OSTP SOS) Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force ACL, AHRQ, ASPR, CDC, FDA NLM, OD/OSP, OD/OER The Subcommittee on Open Science (SOS) advances Federal efforts to support open science by increasing access to, and use of, the results of federally funded research and development, including, but not limited to, scholarly publications and digital data. Among its responsibilities, the SOS aims to improve implementation of policies to increase access to the results of federally funded scientific research and to identify additional steps that Federal Departments and Agencies can take to enhance the preservation, discoverability, accessibility, quality, and utility of research outputs. Meets monthly to advance government-wide efforts to advance open science by coordinating agency efforts to improve access to publications, data, and other outputs of Federally funded research
National Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) Strategic Plan Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force OASH, ACF, ACL, CDC, CMS, FDA, HRSA, IHS, SAMHSA NIAID Plan sets national goals, objectives, and strategies to respond to the STI epidemic. The plan will serve as a roadmap to help federal and non-federal stakeholders at all levels and in all sectors reverse the sharp upward trends in STI rates
National Survey of Family Growth Health Survey ACF, CDC NICHD The National Survey of Family Growth (NSFG) gathers information on family life, marriage and divorce, pregnancy, infertility, use of contraception, and men’s and women’s health. The survey results are used by the US Department of Health and Human Services and others to plan health services and health education programs and to do statistical studies of families, fertility, and health. The NSFG is used by: scholars in the behavioral sciences (e.g., sociology, demography, and economics) to study marriage, divorce, fertility, and family life; scholars in public health to study reproductive, maternal and infant health topics; agencies of the US Department of Health and Human Services to brief senior officials and to inform program decision-making; in research programs and in health and social service programs; state and local governments to plan health and social service programs; and the press, to prepare articles on a number of topics related to health and family life.
