This meeting will focus on developing the paradigm in research and development for T1D shifts toward clinical translation and testing of cell based therapies. We would like to bring the community of T1D researchers, industry, regulators and patients together to discuss the ways we can accelerate the translation of beta cell replacement therapies to the clinic and identifying ways to address gaps that remain. |

In 2019, NIST joined the JAM. And in 2021, USDA joined the JAM. The JAM has quarterly virtual meetings. |

| Joint Fellowship Program | Training Initiative | FDA | NCI | The objective of the NCI-FDA Joint Fellowship Training Program is to train a cadre of scientists in research and research-related regulatory review, policies, and regulations so that they develop a skill set bridging the two disparate processes. Fellows learn to build awareness of regulatory requirements into the early stages of the medical product development process and develop strategies to improve planning throughout research and regulatory review. |

Established in April 2018, KidneyX aims to use prize competitions to accelerate the development of innovative solutions that can prevent, diagnose, and/or treat kidney diseases. KidneyX aims to promote collaboration between patients, health professionals, innovators, industry, and government with the ultimate goal of improving quality of life for people living with kidney diseases. |
