Title Collaboration Type HHS Participating Agencies NIH Participating Institutes, Centers, and Offices Description
Registry of Patient Registries (RoPR) Project Other AHRQ NIDDK, NLM The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is working to design and deploy Registry of Patient Registries (RoPR), which will create a searchable central listing of patient registries in the United States that will be integrated with ClinicalTrials.gov. As part of this project, broad consultations were carried out with relevant groups. Staff of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) participated extensively in these consultations.
Report on Carcinogens (RoC) Evaluation of ortho-Toluidine Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC NIEHS Collaborated on preparing the Report on Carcinogens (RoC) evaluation of ortho-toluidine. The listing status of ortho-toluidine was changed from reasonably anticipated to be a carcinogen to known to be a human carcinogen in the 13th RoC (2014). The RoC is a congressionally mandated, science-based, public health report that identifies substances in our environment that are cancer hazards for people living in the U.S.
Report on Carcinogens (RoC) Evaluation of Pentachlorophenol and Byproducts of its Synthesis Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC NIEHS Collaborated on preparing the Report on Carcinogens (RoC) evaluation of pentachlorophenol and byproducts of its synthesis, which was listed as reasonably anticipated to be a carcinogen in the 13th RoC (2014). The RoC is a congressionally mandated, science-based, public health report that identifies substances in our environment that are cancer hazards for people living in the U.S.
Research in diabetes mellitus, its complications, and obesity Research Initiative IHS NIDDK The objectives are to identify the determinants and understand the progression of type 2 diabetes, obesity, and other chronic diseases in Pima Indians.
Research on Research Integrity Program Research Initiative OS NIEHS, NIDCR This collaboration handles the administrative responsibilities for soliciting, reviewing, funding, and managing the Research on Research Integrity program in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Research Integrity.
Research to Guide Practice Enhancing HIV/AIDS Platforms to Address NCDs in Low Resource Settings (PEPFAR-NCD) Other CDC FIC, NCI, NHLBI, NIAID, NICHD, NIDDK, NIMH, NIMHD, NINDS, OD/DPCPSI/OAR The President''s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) non-communicable diseases (NCD) project, a collaboration between PEPFAR implementing partners, has begun a two-year project with the goal of articulating research priorities to incorporate prevention, care and treatment for non-communicable diseases into HIV/AIDS platforms in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The PEPFAR-NCD project will focus on People Living with HIV (PLWH), many of whom are being treated successfully for HIV, but who are increasingly experiencing co-morbid diseases or conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, and depression. This project will produce landscape analyses and establish research agendas, priorities and products to enhance NCD service delivery through PEPFAR platforms.
Research Updates: An Interagency Webinar on Stillbirth Other HRSA NICHD This webinar brought together federal agencies and advocacy organizations to discuss federal activities related to research on stillbirth, defined as the death of a fetus after 20 weeks of pregnancy. The event includes brief presentations from representatives of the NICHD, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Center for Health Statistics (within the CDC), and the Health Resources and Services Administration. The Star Legacy Foundation, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine also participated in the discussion.
Research-Tested Intervention Program Database (RTIPs) Resource Development SAMHSA NCI The Research-Tested Intervention Program Database (RTIPs) is a searchable database of cancer control interventions and program materials and is designed to provide program planners and public health practitioners easy and immediate access to research-tested materials.
Revision of CDC Guidelines Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC CC The collaboration serves to revise guidelines for managing occupational exposures to HIV and managing healthcare workers infected with hepatitis B.
Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award Program Training Initiative AHRQ, HRSA OD/OER The National Institutes of Health Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (Kirschstein-NRSA) program provides predoctoral and postdoctoral training in biomedical, behavioral, and clinical research, including health services and primary care research, to meet the nation’s needs for investigators in these fields. To help foster the training of health services and primary care researchers, a portion of the Kirschstein funds are annually transferred to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and Health Resources and Services Administration by the NIH Budget Office, in accordance with Public Law 1118, Section 219 of the Public Health Service Act.
