Title Collaboration Type HHS Participating Agencies NIH Participating Institutes, Centers, and Offices Description
Annual Conference on the Science of Dissemination and Implementation Meeting/ Workshop AHRQ NCI, FIC, NHGRI, NHLBI, NIAAA, NIAID, NIDA, NIDDK, NIMH, NIMHD, NINR, OD/DPCPSI/OBSSR, OD/DPCPSI/ODP, NIEHS The Annual Conference on the Science of Dissemination and Implementation is a forum for discussing the science of dissemination and implementation and aims to grow the research base by bridging the gap between evidence, practice, and policy in health and medicine. Researchers, evaluators, and implementers who are interested in identifying opportunities, challenges, and strategies for disseminating the findings and implementation of research to key stakeholders are encouraged to attend. Discuss, debate, and explore in-depth approaches to advance dissemination and implementation science.
Antibody Interest Group (ABIG) Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force FDA NCI, NHLBI, NIAID, NIDCR, NIDDK The NIH Antibody Interest Group (ABIG) promotes information exchange and interaction among NIH scientists who work on various aspects of antibody engineering and therapy. The success of antibody therapy requires a thorough understanding of biological systems in relation to molecular and cell biology, immunology, biochemistry, and microbiology, as well as diseases such as cancer, autoimmunity, and infectious diseases. Interest in antibody therapy crosses traditional biomedical disciplinary boundaries. ABIG provides an open forum for multidisciplinary discussion among colleagues who otherwise may have limited interaction. The principal ABIG activities are monthly meetings on current topics as well as an annual symposium on the NIH campus. The monthly ABIG meetings are open to everyone interested. These meetings are devoted to research seminars on numerous aspects of antibody engineering and therapy presented by both NIH scientists and outside speakers.
Antimicrobial Drugs Advisory Committee Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force FDA NIAID The Committee reviews and evaluates available data concerning the safety and effectiveness of marketed and investigational human drug products for use in the treatment of infectious diseases and disorders and makes appropriate recommendations to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner.
Antiretroviral Pregnancy Registry Resource Development CDC NICHD This is a registry of use of antiretroviral drugs in pregnancy that is sponsored by various pharmaceutical companies and has a committee of external experts and government staff from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The registry provides a resource for clinicians and researchers to improve the healthcare quality and patient safety for HIV infected mothers and their infants.
Antiviral Program for Pandemics Research Initiative ASPR NIAID, NCATS, OD/DPCPSI/ORIP The Antiviral Program for Pandemics (APP) aims to develop safe and effective antivirals to combat SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, as well as to build sustainable platforms for targeted drug discovery and development of a robust pipeline of antivirals against viruses with pandemic potential.
Arthritis Advisory Committee Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force FDA NIAID This Committee provides expertise in the evaluation of evidence submitted by pharmaceutical companies to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for drug approval.
Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Cervical Cancer Initiative Meeting/ Workshop OGA, CDC NCI In November and December 2020, following the launch of the Global Strategy to Accelerate the Elimination of Cervical Cancer, the US National Cancer Institute together with the APEC Health Working Group and the APEC Life Sciences Innovation Forum, organized the APEC Policy Dialogue (Day 1 and Day2) and the APEC Technical Webinar. These meetings brought together multisectoral stakeholders from APEC economies to discuss and to highlight the importance of the Global Strategy to Accelerate Cervical Cancer Elimination, HPV Vaccination and Screening in APEC during the COVID-19 Pandemic, Strengthening Health Systems and Research Priorities to Deliver on the Promise of Cervical Cancer Elimination, and Control of HPV Disease in HIV+ Women. These meetings were also supported by the University of Malaya of Malaysia and VCS Foundation Ltd of Australia.
Assay subgroup for SARS-CoV-2 Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, FDA, BARDA, FDA NIAID The objective is to share assay development activities within the government Labs
Assessing the Burden of Diabetes by Type in Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults Network (DiCAYA) Resource Development CDC NIDDK The primary goal of the DiCAYA network is to modernize diabetes surveillance efforts to capitalize on large-volume, electronic health record data streams and on recent advances in statistics and clinical informatics to provide accurate, timely, cost-effective, granular, and representative indicators of diabetes prevalence and incidence among children, adolescents and younger adults. The network aims to monitor overall trends as well as trends within subgroups (e.g., age, sex, diabetes type, socioeconomic status, urbanicity, geographic area).
Assessment of Inhalation Exposures to Indoor and Occupational Aerosols Research Initiative CDC NIEHS The primary goal of this collaboration is to study inhalation exposures to indoor and occupational aerosols, with a current focus on characterizing the health hazards associated with exposure to common fungal contaminants. NIOSH uses a specially developed exposure system to conduct subchronic toxicology studies following repeated exposure to molds identified by the NTP as a public health concern. Subprojects under this IAA are examining the association of exposure to mycotoxins and health by analyzing indoor air samples, developing biomarkers of exposure and response, and using genomic sequencing methodologies to assess fungal diversity associated with the built environment.
