Interagency Adult Literacy Research Group Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force ACF NICHD This is an intra-government, trans-agency group shares updates on research relevant to adults with lower literacy skills (i.e., reading and writing) as well as practices and programs that are being implemented to assist these learners in various agencies. The goal is for staff and corresponding agencies to be informed of broader efforts occurring around adult literacy within the federal government and to keep abreast of research and promising programs that might inform their work.

Interagency Artificial Pancreas Working Group Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force FDA NIDDK, NIBIB, NICHD The Interagency Artificial Pancreas Working Group is a group of multi-disciplined scientists and clinicians from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to support the Artificial Pancreas Initiative. The goals of this initiative are to provide infrastructure for narrowing the gap between basic biomedical knowledge and clinical application of novel technologies, and to cross-fertilize and partner with stakeholders in order to identify and overcome the clinical and scientific challenges to the development of an artificial pancreas. Through collaborative efforts, such as workshops, the group strives to develop innovative strategies to achieve their goals.
Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee (IACC) Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force ACF, ACL, AHRQ, CDC, CMS, FDA, HRSA, IHS, SAMHSA NIMH, NICHD, NIEHS, NINDS, NIDCD The Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee (IACC) is a federal advisory committee charged with coordinating federal activities concerning autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and providing advice to the Secretary of Health and Human Services on issues related to autism. Membership of the Committee includes a wide array of federal departments and agencies involved in ASD research and services, as well as public stakeholders, including self-advocates, family members of children and adults with ASD, advocates, service providers, and researchers, who represent a variety of perspectives from within the autism community. The Committee members myriad expertise and experience aim to equip the IACC to address the wide range of issues and challenges faced by individuals and families affected by autism. The IACC was reauthorized under the Autism Collaboration, Accountability, Research, Education, and Support (CARES) Act of 2019. In 2021, the IACC held full committee meetings on July 21-22 and October 13-14.
InterAgency Board (IAB) Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, FDA, ATSDR NIEHS Sanctioned by the Attorney General of the United States, the InterAgency Board for Equipment Standardization and Interoperability (IAB) was founded by the Department of Defense's Consequence Management Program Integration Office and the Department of Justice's Federal Bureau of Investigation Weapons of Mass Destruction Countermeasures on October 13, 1998. The IAB is a voluntary collaborative panel of emergency preparedness and response practitioners from a wide array of professional disciplines that represent all levels of government and the voluntary sector. The IAB provides a structured forum for the exchange of ideas among operational, technical, and support organizations to improve national preparedness and promote interoperability and compatibility among local, state, and federal response communities. Based on direct field experience, IAB members advocate for and assist the development and implementation of performance criteria, standards, test protocols, and technical, operating, and training requirements for all-hazards incident response equipment with a special emphasis on Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive issues. The IAB also informs broader emergency preparedness and response policy, doctrine, and practice.
Interagency Chemical Risk Assessment Working Group Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force OS NINDS, NIAID This working group is a Department of Homeland Security led effort to determine chemical hazards and develop Chemical Risk Threat Assessment list of priority chemicals.
Interagency Collaborative Animal Research Education (ICARE) Training Project Training Initiative CDC, FDA, ASPR OD/OER The Interagency Collaborative Animal Research Education (ICARE) Academies and Train the Trainer Institutes use active learning to train participants to meet their responsibilities for animal welfare oversight. The program empowers accountability for facts and conceptual understanding of Federal standards through the study of realistic problems encountered in animal care and use programs. Faculty includes subject matter experts from biomedical research institutions and federal agencies, including National Institutes of Health (NIH) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee members, staff, institutional officials, veterinarians, animal facility personnel, administrators, consultants, as well as compliance and regulatory personnel involved in the humane use of animals in research all may participate in the ICARE program.
Interagency Collaborative to Advance Research in Epilepsy (ICARE) Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force AHRQ, CDC, FDA, HRSA, OS NINDS, FIC, NCATS, NHGRI, NHLBI, NIA, NIAAA, NIAMS, NICHD, NIDA, NIMH The Interagency Collaborative to Advance Research in Epilepsy (ICARE) is an interagency epilepsy working group that includes broad representation across the National Institutes of Health (NIH) institutes and centers (ICs) involved in epilepsy-related research, as well as across the Department of Health and Human Services other Federal agencies multiple epilepsy research organizations, and patient advocacy groups with a primary focus on biomedical research. The purpose of this group, which is led by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, is to increase communication among institutes and agencies sponsoring epilepsy-related research and to explore opportunities for increased coordination. The group’s annual meetings provide a forum for sharing information about ongoing and planned epilepsy research activities, highlighting advances, discussing needs and opportunities, and promoting increased collaboration toward common research goals.
Interagency Committee on Disability Research (ICDR) Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force ACF, ACL, AHRQ, ATSDR, CDC, CMS, FDA, HRSA, IHS, OS, Office of the Surgeon General (OSC), SAMHSA NICHD, NIDCD, NIMH, NINDS The ICDR's mission is to promote coordination and cooperation among federal departments and agencies conducting disability, independent living, and rehabilitation research programs including programs relating to assistive technology research and research that incorporates the principles of universal design.
Interagency Committee on Human Nutrition Research (ICHNR) Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, FDA, HRSA OD/DPCPSI/ONR, NIDDK, NCI, OD/DPCPSI The Interagency Committee on Human Nutrition Research (ICHRN) is charged with improving the planning, coordination, and communication among federal agencies engaged in nutrition research and with facilitating the development and updating of plans for federal research programs to meet current and future domestic and international needs for nutrition.
