HHS Dietary Guidance Review Committee Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force ACF, CDC, FDA, HRSA, IHS, OASH OD/DPCPSI/ONR, NIDDK This committee reviews draft nutrition materials developed by all federal agencies and fulfills the legislative mandate (1990 NNMRRA) to ensure that Federal dietary guidance is consistent with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and is scientifically accurate.
HHS Disability Collaborative Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force ACL, AHRQ, ASPA, ASPE, ASFR, ASA, ASPR, ACF, CDC, CMS, OASH, OCR, ONC, OIG, OGA, HRSA, SAMHSA, FDA, IHS NIA, NICHD The HHS Collaborative is for OpDivs and StaffDivs to work in partnership on issues that impact person with disabilities. This group will address emerging issues, funding announcements, research and evaluation, pre-clearance conversations, special events, announcements, and rollouts. Anticipated results includes enhanced communication across agencies, elevated focus on key disability issues, improved awareness and coordinated messaging, alignments of budgets and policy proposal, and enhanced knowledge transfer across HHS. This is not a governing body. The lead organizations are ACL and ASPE.

HHS Environmental Justice and Natural Disasters Working Group (EJ) Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force ASPR, OASH, CDC, HRSA NIEHS Environmental Justice is “the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income with respect to the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies”. Executive Order 12898, Federal Actions to Address Environmental Justice in Minority Populations and Low-income Populations requires each Federal agency to “make achieving environmental justice part of its mission by identifying and addressing, as appropriate, disproportionately high and adverse human health or environmental effects of its programs, policies, and activities on minority populations and low-income populations.” The Executive Order also states that “each Federal agency responsibility set forth under this order shall apply equally to Native American programs.”

HHS HIV Bidirectional Meeting Planning Committee Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, FDA, HRSA, OS, SAMHSA NIAID, NIMH Committee planning meetings of the HHS global and domestic policy and program leaders to share successful strategies and lessons learned, and to discuss potential adaptations to enable the transfer/implementation of proven strategies among new environments.
HHS Kidney Care Work Group Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, FDA, OS NIAID The goals of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Kidney Care Work Group are to 1) reduce the number of new patients needing organ transplants by 25% by 2030; 2) provide healthier options for those on life-saving protocols so that 80 % of dialysis patients can be treated by alternatives to current dialysis by 2025; and 3) expand the supply of organs 3 fold by 2025.

This committee coordinates the exchange of information about LGBT-related policies across the department, and provides a mechanism for both collecting and disseminating this information across operating divisions.
