Federal Interagency Forum on Aging Related Statistics Resource Development ACL, AHRQ, CDC, CMS, OS, SAMHSA NIA This Interagency Forum was formed with the goal of bringing together Federal agencies that share a common interest in improving aging-related data. The specific goals of the Forum are to improve both the quality and use of data on the aging population.

The FIHET was established to foster communications and activities of the NPA within federal agencies and their partners; and to increase the efficiencies and effectiveness of related policies and programs at the national, state, tribal, and local levels.

Federal Interagency Healthy Homes Work Group (HHWG) Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC NIEHS The HHWG developed a Strategy for Action that will capitalize on the collective expertise within the HHWG and the Task Force to advance the policy established in the United States Housing Act: “…to assist States and political subdivisions of States to remedy the unsafe housing conditions and the acute shortage of decent and safe dwellings for low-income families [and] to assist States and political subdivision of States to address theshortage of housing affordable to low-income families.”
Federal Interagency Task Force on the Arts and Human Development Research Initiative ACF, ACL, SAMHSA NIA, NCCIH, NCI, NICHD, NIMH, OD/DPCPSI/OBSSR Beginning in 2011, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) has convened a Federal Interagency Task Force on the Arts and Human Development to encourage more and better research on how the arts can help people reach their full potential at all stages of life. Task force members represent multiple units across federal government, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and the U.S. Department of Education, among others. To date, the Task Force has met quarterly to share ideas and information about research gaps and opportunities for understanding the arts'' role in improving health and educational outcomes throughout the lifespan. The Task Force has conducted a series of public webinars on compelling research and practices. Additionally, the group has begun a literature review of research on the arts and human development. In November 2012, four Task Force member agencies hosted a first-ever convening at the National Academy of Sciences to review the current state of research on the arts, health, and well-being in older Americans.
Federal Interagency Traumatic Brain Injury Research (FITBIR) Working Group Resource Development AHRQ, CDC, HRSA, OS, SAMHSA NINDS, CIT, NCATS, NHLBI, NIA, NIAAA, NIBIB, NICHD, NIDA, NIDCD, NIGMS, NIMH The charge of the Interagency Committee includes promoting collaboration among federal agencies. A goal of this committee is to develop a national “Roadmap” for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). This strategic planning effort will represent the collective expertise of providers, educators, advocates, federal/state/national organizations, and individuals with TBI and their families and will result in a consensus document outlining the critical elements of a successful system of care for TBI service delivery.

Federal Interagency Working Group on Improving Measurement of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity in Federal Surveys Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force ACF, CDC, CMS, HRSA, IHS, OS, SAMHSA OD/DPSCSI/SGMRO, NICHD The Working Group explores measurement of sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI), considering multiple different dimensions of sex, gender, and sexuality. The Working Group examines variability in measurement by age, race, ethnicity, and cultural group. It prepares recommendations to OMB and other Federal agencies for the development, testing, and usage of SOGI measures to more accurately describe LGBT populations.
Federal Partners Committee on Women and Trauma Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force ACF, AHRQ, CDC, HRSA, SAMHSA NIDA, NIAID, NIMH, OD/DPCPSI/ORWH Led by the Department of Labor (DOL) and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the Women and Trauma workgroup includes more than three dozen federal agencies, departments, and offices one of the largest interagency collaborations in federal government history.
