Cancer and Women''s Health Interagency Agreement Research Initiative FDA NCI The overall purpose of this NCI/FDA collaboration is to promote the public health of all women through advancements in cancer research and medical therapies. The parties envision this joint collaborative activity to encompass all the major cancers afflicting the health and well-being for adult women.
Cancer Control and Cancer Survivorship in the Sister Studies Health Survey CDC NIEHS Activities include holding a workshop on research priorities for understanding breast cancer in young women and conducting 2 surveys within the Sister Study: 1) looking at high risk women without breast cancer to understand the impact of breast cancer in a family member on women and their daughters, including screening and lifestyle behaviors; and 2) a survey of young breast cancer survivors to identify issues related to treatment and follow-up, barriers to care, quality of life, discrimination, and other factors post-diagnosis. The study focuses on special needs of young survivors, including fertility.
Cancer Control Plan, Link, Act, Network with Evidence-Based Tools (P.L.A.N.E.T) Resource Development AHRQ, CDC, SAMHSA NCI Cancer control planners, program staff, and researchers have the same goals: to reduce cancer risk, the number of new cancer cases, and the number of deaths from cancer, as well as enhance the quality of life for cancer survivors. While many share the same goals, all do not have easy access to resources that can facilitate the transfer of evidence-based research findings into practice. This Cancer Control P.L.A.N.E.T. (Plan, Link, Act, Network with Evidence-based Tools) portal provides access to data and resources that can help planners, program staff, and researchers to design, implement and evaluate evidence-based cancer control programs.

CDC-NIH Lyme Disease Serum Sample Repository Resource Development CDC, OS NIAID Initiated in 2008, this resource was made available to the scientific community on a broad basis in late 2011. Lyme disease and related serum samples are available upon request for testing and comparison of new and current diagnostic tests with a common serum sample set for standardization. Samples are distributed by the CDC. CDC and NIH both provided support to acquire the samples and continue to work together to ensure the scientific community has access to samples needed for Lyme disease diagnostic test development.
