The National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention (NAASP) is a public-private partnership for advancing the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention. The mission of the NAASP is to champion suicide prevention as a national priority; to catalyze efforts to implement high priority objectives of the NAASP; and to cultivate the resources needed to sustain progress. The NIMH Director is an ex officio member of the NAASP Executive Committee and Co-Chair of the NAASP Research Task Force. Additional NIMH staff serve on task forces pertaining to LGBT Youth, Military and Veterans, Youth in Justice Settings, and American Indian/Alaska Natives.

The National Asthma Control Initiative (NACI) is a national effort to facilitate implementation of the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (NAEPP) Expert Panel Report-3 Asthma Guidelines implementation panel report. The NAEPP, which was initiated in 1989, seeks to enhance the quality of life for patients with asthma and decrease asthma-related morbidity and mortality by improving asthma awareness, diagnosis, and treatment.

The Federal Liaison Group on Asthma is a subcommittee of the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program that is charged with addressing ways to strengthen and improve the coordination of asthma-related activities across agencies of the Federal Government. The group provides a forum for federal agencies with major interest in asthma to exchange ideas and explore collaborative activities.

Initiated in 2000-2001, the NCS Interagency Coordinating Committee represents the lead agencies for the Study and oversees broad Study issues and ensures interagency collaboration. The representatives assure that at a high level, the mission and goals of the National Children''s Study are maintained over time and that they reflect the scientific priorities of the Study''s four lead agencies. The committee is made up of staff from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (including the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, of the National Institutes of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
