Title: DRAFT NTP Monograph on the Systematic Review of Evidence of Long-Term Neurological Effects following Acute Exposure to the Organophosphorus Nerve Agent Sarin
Subject: Peer review of a systematic review to evaluate the evidence for long-term neurological effects in humans and animals following acute exposure to sarin.
Purpose (e.g., abstract): NTP has evaluated the scientific evidence from human and experimental animal studies. The draft monograph represents an assessment of that information using systematic review methodology. The purpose of the assessment is to determine if acute sarin exposure is a long-term hazard for three different time periods: initial (>24 hours–7 days after exposure), intermediate (8 days–1 year after exposure), and extended (more than 1 year after exposure).
