Title Collaboration Type HHS Participating Agencies NIH Participating Institutes, Centers, and Offices Description
Antimicrobial Drugs Advisory Committee Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force FDA NIAID The Committee reviews and evaluates available data concerning the safety and effectiveness of marketed and investigational human drug products for use in the treatment of infectious diseases and disorders and makes appropriate recommendations to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner.
Antiretroviral Pregnancy Registry Resource Development CDC NICHD This is a registry of use of antiretroviral drugs in pregnancy that is sponsored by various pharmaceutical companies and has a committee of external experts and government staff from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The registry provides a resource for clinicians and researchers to improve the healthcare quality and patient safety for HIV infected mothers and their infants.
Antiviral Program for Pandemics Research Initiative ASPR NIAID, NCATS, OD/DPCPSI/ORIP The Antiviral Program for Pandemics (APP) aims to develop safe and effective antivirals to combat SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, as well as to build sustainable platforms for targeted drug discovery and development of a robust pipeline of antivirals against viruses with pandemic potential.
Arthritis Advisory Committee Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force FDA NIAID This Committee provides expertise in the evaluation of evidence submitted by pharmaceutical companies to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for drug approval.
Assay optimization and screening for measuring the kinetics of antibacterial resistance emergence Research Initiative FDA NCATS Assay optimization and screening for measuring the kinetics of antibacterial resistance emergence
Assay subgroup for SARS-CoV-2 Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, FDA, BARDA, FDA NIAID The objective is to share assay development activities within the government Labs
Assessing the Burden of Diabetes by Type in Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults Network (DiCAYA) Resource Development CDC NIDDK The primary goal of the DiCAYA network is to modernize diabetes surveillance efforts to capitalize on large-volume, electronic health record data streams and on recent advances in statistics and clinical informatics to provide accurate, timely, cost-effective, granular, and representative indicators of diabetes prevalence and incidence among children, adolescents and younger adults. The network aims to monitor overall trends as well as trends within subgroups (e.g., age, sex, diabetes type, socioeconomic status, urbanicity, geographic area). NIDDK is a DiCAYA research sponsor.
Assessment of Inhalation Exposures to Indoor and Occupational Aerosols Research Initiative CDC NIEHS The primary goal of this collaboration is to study inhalation exposures to indoor and occupational aerosols, with a current focus on characterizing the health hazards associated with exposure to common fungal contaminants. NIOSH uses a specially developed exposure system to conduct subchronic toxicology studies following repeated exposure to molds identified by the NTP as a public health concern. Subprojects under this IAA are examining the association of exposure to mycotoxins and health by analyzing indoor air samples, developing biomarkers of exposure and response, and using genomic sequencing methodologies to assess fungal diversity associated with the built environment.
Assessment of task-based exposures that may affect reproductive health in nail salon employees Research Initiative CDC NIEHS The goal of this study is to better understand a nail technician's exposure profile to select reproductive toxicants by evaluating the contributions of different tasks.
Autoimmune Diseases Coordinating Committee Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force CDC, FDA, HRSA NIAID, CSR, FIC, NCATS, NCCIH, NCI, NEI, NHGRI, NHLBI, NIA, NIAAA, NIBIB, NICHD, NIDA, NIDCD, NIDCR, NIDDK, NIEHS, NIGMS, NIMH, NINDS, NINR The purpose of the Autoimmune Diseases Coordinating Committee (ADCC) is to provide a forum for the coordination of research efforts in autoimmunity and autoimmune diseases among various stakeholders including the National Institutes of Health (NIH), other federal agencies such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and private organizations with an interest in autoimmune diseases. The ADCC meets twice yearly to discuss a broad range of basic, preclinical, and clinical endeavors.
