Regenerative Medicine Project Research Initiative FDA NIA The Regenerative Medicine Innovation Project (RMIP) was established by the 21st Century Cures Act to accelerate progress in the field by supporting clinical research on adult stem cells, while promoting scientific rigor and protecting patient safety. This initiative is a trans-NIH effort, in coordination with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Registry-based studies of hematologic malignancy incidence and survivorship Research Initiative FDA NCI NCI and FDA investigators are collaborating to utilize registry-based data to describe incidence trends of hematologic malignancies as well as second cancer risk and mortality patterns among hematologic malignancy survivors.
Report Out Session of the HIV-related Intersectional Stigma Research Advances and Opportunities Workshop Meeting/ Workshop OASH OD/DPCPSI/OAR, NIMH On September 18, 2020, join the NIH Office of AIDS Research and the NIMH Division of AIDS Research for a discussion about the outcomes of recent meetings of four workgroups focused on HIV-related intersectional stigma research advances and opportunities. The goal of this virtual workshop is to advance HIV prevention and treatment science, inform the Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) initiative, and bolster HIV efforts worldwide.
RePORT South Africa Research Initiative CDC, OS NIAID RePORT South Africa is a jointly funded project between the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the US President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), and the South African Medical Research Council and Department of Science and Technology to establish a consortium of Tuberculosis (TB) researchers in South Africa.
Repurposing Off-Patent Drugs: Research & Regulatory Challenges Meeting/ Workshop FDA NCATS The workshop mapped out the challenges to repurposing drugs that are already on the market but lack commercial and regulatory incentives for research and development.

Research IND Portal ( Pilot) Resource Development FDA NCI CDER’s Office of Business Informatics and Office of Medical Policy have partnered with NIH to build, and pilot, a cloud-based submission portal for research INDs. CDER is actively engaging with NIH to gain insight into the needs for this research IND submission portal. The portal will streamline and intuitively assist in submission of research INDs, digitize data that is currently captured in static PDFs in an electronic, structured format to alleviate the amount of PDF/paper submissions FDA receives thereby increasing FDA review efficiency, and create a dashboard interface for management of sponsor INDs
Research to Guide Practice Enhancing HIV/AIDS Platforms to Address Non- Communicable Diseases in Low Resource Settings (HIV/NCD Integration Project) Research Initiative CDC FIC, NCI, NHLBI, NIAID, NICHD, NIDDK, NIMH, NIMHD, NINDS, NINR, OD/DPCPSI/OAR Research to guide practice: Enhancing human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) and the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) platforms to address non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in low-resource settings (the HIV/NCD Integration Project) aims to bring together researchers, implementers, and government representatives to articulate practical goals, approaches, and a related research agenda to incorporate prevention, care, and treatment for NCDs into HIV/AIDS platforms in sub-Saharan Africa. The HIV/NCD Integration Project focuses on people living with HIV, many of whom are being treated successfully for HIV, but who are increasingly experiencing co-morbid diseases or conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, and depression. This project has produced landscape analyses, is establishing research agendas and priorities, and supports products, including modeled data, to enhance NCD services through HIV platforms.
Review of Applications for the Biomedical Data Translator: Development Phase Committee, Work group, Advisory group, or Task Force FDA NCATS, NHGRI, NIDDK, NLM The goal of the Biomedical Data Translator program is to build an online tool based on a massive network of biomedical knowledge that can be used to augment human reasoning and allow biomedical researchers to create new hypotheses, leading to innovative solutions for patient care. The review of applications for funding to create this tool is an important step on the road to creating the final Translator infrastructure.
