Responsibilities & Activities

Jennifer serves as the Director of Communications for ONR, and is responsible for supporting efforts to communicate the value of nutrition research, and setting the strategic direction of ONR’s internal and external communications efforts, including ONR’s website. She supports the development of messaging for ONR outreach efforts, and coordinates dissemination of nutrition research resources and information, as well as supporting efforts to build and enhance relationships with ONR partners.

Biography

Prior to joining the ONR, Ms. Gorman Wright served as the Coordinator and Co-Chair for the NIH Initiative for the USA Science & Engineering Festival (USASEF), and the Communications Director for the Office of Administrative Management and Communications (OAMC), in the Division of Program Coordination, Planning, and Strategic Initiatives (DPCPSI). In addition to her coordination of the USASEF, Ms. Gorman Wright managed division-wide communications projects, including the division-wide newsletter, intranet, and coordination of three division-wide communities of practice. Prior to joining DPCPSI, Ms. Gorman worked in the Office of Communications and Public Liaison, Office of the Director, NIH, as the Director of the NIH Visitors Center, and Executive Secretary and Coordinator for the NIH Director’s Council of Public Representatives. Ms. Gorman Wright began her NIH career as a Presidential Management Fellow. Prior to her NIH career, Ms. Gorman worked at the United Way and as a Program Director for a local Mental Health agency. She holds a BA degree in Public Policy, Psychology and Women’s Studies from Duke University and an MPA from George Mason University. A graduate of the NIH Senior Leadership Program and OD Supervisors Mentoring Program, she has been the recipient of multiple NIH Director and OD Honor Awards. When not at work, Ms. Gorman Wright enjoys hiking and spending time with her husband, three sons and their Golden Retriever, Roscoe.
