Overview

As part of the disability research strategic plan development process, NIH is engaging with a wide range of individuals and organizations in disability communities to obtain their input regarding the health and research concerns and unique needs and preferences of people with disabilities. DPCPSI’s Disability Research Coordination Team will lead these efforts, in close coordination with other NIH Institutes, Centers, and Offices via the Disability Research Coordinating Committee.

Beginning in October, DPCPSI will hold a series of virtual Community Roundtables and a virtual Town Hall. Please see below for the schedule of events and registration links for each event.

Community Roundtables will include remarks and discussion by invited panelists and be open to the public for live viewing, with a public Q&A session at the end. Panelists will include people with lived experience of disability, researchers, clinicians, advocacy organizations, and professional associations.

The Town Hall will be 60 minutes in length and open to the public. It will include a presentation that provides background on pertinent NIH disability efforts, discusses the disability research strategic planning process, and provides a summary of input and feedback received to date. A moderator will then facilitate a Q&A session with the audience.

Summaries of all events will be posted publicly.
